VISION AND MISSION OF UNIVERSITAS GADJAH MADA (UGM)

University Vision:

Universitas Gadjah Mada as a pioneer of a world-class national university that is excellent and innovative, dedicated to the interests of the nation and humanity, inspired by the cultural values of the nation based on Pancasila.

University Mission:

To carry out education, research, and community service as well as the preservation and development of knowledge that is excellent and beneficial to society.

 

VISION AND MISSION OF THE FACULTY OF ENGINEERING UGM

Faculty Vision:

The Faculty of Engineering UGM strives to become a nationally and globally connected higher education institution in engineering to strengthen a new civilization, reinforce national independence and sovereignty in the field of science and technology, and slow down the increase of global entropy, all in service to the interests of the nation and humanity inspired by national cultural values based on Pancasila.

Faculty Mission:

  1. To provide a learning process that is excellent and dignified in the fields of science and engineering for the development of the whole person.
  2. To develop, disseminate, and preserve science and engineering recognized internationally.
  3. To conduct and implement community service by applying research-based technology grounded in Indonesian cultural values.
  4. To develop extensive cooperation with higher education institutions and other organizations both domestically and internationally.

 

VISION AND MISSION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF ARCHITECTURAL ENGINEERING AND PLANNING

Vision of the Department of Architectural Engineering and Planning

  1. To establish leading research and education while remaining grounded in the vision of Universitas Gadjah Mada.
  2. To be responsive to various conditions, issues, and demands of globalization and to be able to compete nationally and internationally in the development of science, technology, and the arts to support sustainable development.

Mission of the Department of Architectural Engineering and Planning

  1. To enhance the role of the Department of Architectural Engineering and Planning in the development of scientific thought, planning and design ideas, and community-oriented technology for various social groups.
  2. To increase the quantity and quality of research and experimentation as the basis for scientific development, particularly at the graduate level.
  3. To build frameworks and dynamic concepts/theories rooted in issues and demands related to globalization, technology, and sustainability in architecture/environment, which influence academic activities, research, and their application in society.
  4. To develop the Department of Architectural Engineering and Planning as an open and reliable institution through the development of human resources, organization, facilities, and programs in accordance with the evolving paradigm of Architecture in the future.
  5. To establish the Department of Architectural Engineering and Planning as a center of excellence in architectural science and professional practice.
  6. To contribute to the creation of potential commercial ventures within the faculty by developing various study programs and collaborations.
  7. To conduct exchanges and cooperation with international institutions through visiting lecturers for various activities such as guest lectures, seminars, workshops, and research.
  8. To carry out joint research with the government with services aligned to professional institutions.
  9. To enhance technical skills by providing training, including Computer Aided Design (CAD), for the public as well as through cooperation with specific institutions.
  10. To foster regular communication with alumni to strengthen alumni networks.

 

VISION AND MISSION OF THE MASTER PROGRAM IN ARCHITECTURE STUDY PROGRAM

Vision of the Master Program in Architecture Study Program:

To become a leading and distinguished master’s education program capable of building and developing a scientific and professional community in the field of architecture at national and international levels through the provision of excellent graduates in architectural research and specialized architectural practice, in order to advance knowledge, arts and culture, technology (IPSTEK), and the environment in the field of architecture as a whole.

This vision consists of three key points:

  1. Educating researchers and practitioners in the field of architectural science.
  2. Providing enrichment of architectural knowledge through arts and culture, technology, and the environment.
  3. Gaining recognition of graduates at national and international levels.

Mission of the Master Program in Architecture Study Program:

  1. To educate, prepare, and produce graduates with a Master’s degree who are capable of becoming researchers and design professionals in the fields of science, technology, and the architectural environment.
  2. To conduct research to enrich the body of knowledge in science, technology, and the architectural environment, and to disseminate architectural research results to the Indonesian and international architectural community.
